Where to Go When Visiting Georgia, USA
The state of Georgia has a lot of culture and history etched into it and this is the reason why it is a wonderful place to visit. The town of Blue Ridge is the center of art in this state. It has fondly been called the ‘Switzerland of the South’ because of the many arts and crafts galleries and live music performance you can enjoy. Around this small town is a wooden area where you can go trail hiking with your friends and you can also pas by the Ocoee River where you can enjoy a round of kayaking.
Pine Mountain is another town adjoining the Calloway Gardens resort which is complete with golf courses, beautiful gardens, and lakes. You can visit the locals in the town proper where you can get a taste of southern cuisine, antique shops and plenty of other local shops. There is no problem with accommodations since you can find many in Calloway Gardens or in the nearby city where you can rent apartments in LaGrange, GA.
From Savannah, you can drive to Tybee Island which is an island of pure sandy beaches and sand dunes. Water and land activities are plenty in this 22 square mile island. Or if you don’t want to do these activities you can simply enjoy the beach and watch the beautiful view from the island.
On the Cohutta Mountains of Georgia, there is Panther Creek trail where you can have a hiking trail adventure. Along the way you can enjoy the sight of breath taking waterfalls flowing in multiple tiers to a singular pool of crisp, clear water below. Here you can spend time in quiet meditative amid the gentle, relaxing sound of the waterfalls. The many campsites around would be a great place to enjoy the place with your friends.
In the Providence National Park lies the Providence Canyon which is Georgia’s version of the Grand Canyon. The rock formations are very colorful too look at and very striking especially during the summer months. If you want to take the canyon hands on, you can do so with hiking and rock-climbing activities in the place.
